TWICE AS NICE, SVdP VARSITY DIVSION 1 WINS ANOTHER BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP!

Coach Wiggs and his Varsity Team delivered a repeat performance Thursday evening as the Varsity captured a second championship title in a 5-0 shutout of St. Anne's at St. Mary's Littleton.  It was a memorable ending to a season of challenges posed by poor weather and cancellations.  Best wishes to the 8th graders as they advance to high school and even bigger challenges!   You are Fishhack's Finest!  Go Crusaders!

SVdP TAKES THE CSAL JVD2 BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP!

Coach Bubelis and his band of 5th grade sluggers persevered through a season of cold weather, snow, and cancellations to bring home another baseball championship to SVdP Tuesday night at Brent Mayne.  The Jayvee's sound pitching, hot bats and great defense were the key in their 8-6 win over a perennially tough Fatima team.  Congratulations boys!  You're the tops!

TODAY'S JVD1 GAME vs SPP CANCELLED

Coach Glade's  5:00 PM JVD1 game v SPP at Fishhack Field at Congress Park has been cancelled by Parks and Rec due to field conditions.

JV D2 GAME v SPP IS ON SO FAR...

Coach Glade's Jay Vees are scheduled to play Sts. Peter and Paul today at 5:00 PM at Congress.
The weather is supposed to turn foul, but the question is when.   Check with your coaches for game stautus.

Parks and Rec Field Report due at 7:30 AM

The snow is gone from Fishhack Field at Congress, but as of noon yesterday the base paths were like red toothpaste. Parks and Rec will give their first field closure report at 7:30 AM today, stay tuned.

Denver Parks and Rec has cancelled play on all fields today due to snow.  So, Coach Glade's Jay Vees 5:00 PM game with Sts. Peter and Paul  at Fishhack Field has been cancelled.

WIDGETS RED VS ST MARYS CANCELLED

Widgets Red game scheduled for 4:30 PM at St. Bernadette has been cancelled due to field conditions.
Reschedule date TBD.

Can't seem to get a break from the weather.  The latest bout of snow has left the fields unplayable. Fields will be evaluated for play again tomorrow.

Fields are still a mess.  Once the snow melts we'll need a couple of days to dry out, so all games have been cancelled until we return from Easter break.

All JV and Varsity baseball games for Monday 3/25 and Tuesday 3/26 have been cancelled due to field conditions.

VARSITY ICED IN A SQUEAKER AT ST THOMAS MOORE

It the snow and cold that won  out in the end as Coach Wigg's Varsity suffered a snow shortened 7-6 road loss to St. Thomas Moore on Friday.  No worries, warmer days are ahead.

JV BLACK STUCK IN A SNOW STORM

Coach Glade's JV D1 team fought the cold and snow as well as the heat from the Sts. Peter and Paul pitching rotation in a 9-6 loss Friday at Fishhack Field.  The Crusaders staged a late inning comeback but in the end it wasn't enough to dig them out.   We'll get 'em next time Crusaders!

WIDGET GAMES CANCELLED

St Bernadette has cancelled today's  as well as all tomorrow's Widget games.
They will be rescheduled after Easter Break. 

THE MONTH OF MARCH- IN LIKE A LION, OUT LIKE A LAMB?

We have a full slate of games today but the weather forecast is dicey.
 JVD1 plays SPP home at Congress at 5:00 PM , Varsity D1 is on the road for a 5:00 PM contest at STM and the 4th Grade Widgets are at St. Bernadette vs SM at 4:30 PM. 

Will we get the games in?  Well, we're going to give it a try.  Stay tuned for cancellation information.
Cancellations will be posted here by 3:00 PM.

JV BLACK OPENS SEASON WITH A BANG

Coach Glade's JV D1 opened their season on the road today in a big way with a 20-1 win at St. Ann.  The bats were blazing.  Way to go Crusaders!

JV RED WINS ROAD OPENER AT ST. LOUIS

Coach Bubelis' D2 JayVees opened their season today with a 14-1 road win at St. Louis.

VARSITY CRUSADERS WIN OPENING DAY AT FISHHACK FIELD

Coach Wiggs' Varsity Crusaders posted a 9-3 opening day victory today against St. John the Baptist at Congress Park. Sam "Slingshot" K. brought the heat and the Crusader bats were popping.
Way to go Crusaders!

THIS WEEK'S PRACTICES ARE POSTPONED

Well, we may be ready to play, but  the weatherman and Parks and Rec say the fields aren't.
So practices will be postponed until sometime next week. 

The good news is that the forecast calls for warm weather and sunshine later this week.  Keep your fingers crossed!

2013 SPRING BASEBALL REGISTRATION EXTENDED

While we're still shoveling out from snow storm, it's fun to think that  the SVdP Spring Baseball Season is right around the corner!


If you haven't visited the Crusader Connection to download a Baseball Registration form yet, there is still time!   The registration deadline has been extended to Friday, March 1st 3:00 PM.    So, get those registrations in and get ready to Play Ball!

2013 SVdP SPRING BASEBALL REGISTRATION FORMS

Look for the Spring Baseball Registration form in next week's issue of the Crusader Connection.
Registration fees and forms must be returned to the school office by 3:15 PM Monday, February 25th. Rosters must be turned in to the League by February 27th.  So please don't delay!
